Stuck in neutral

It's probably more like "stuck in reverse." This first trimester is kicking my butt. The all-morning nausea, the life-sucking tiredness, the raging hormonal moodiness - good birth control, right? It's amazing how quickly you forget these inconveniences - I suppose otherwise we wouldn't procreate.

My crafting is taking the brunt of my first-trimester neglect, I'm sad to say. I have piles upon piles of fabric begging for attention. Pages filled with sketches and ideas waiting to come to life. I usually sew during Dawson's afternoon nap but that seems to also be my sleepiest time of day and all I want to do is lie on the sofa. Then after the kids go to bed the last thing I want to do is make yet another mess that will have to be cleaned up. I just can't be bothered!

My goal this evening is to actually cook dinner (gasp!) and then SEW. Hold me to it, will you please?

  1. Don't you worry. No nap for you when Josh comes home today. We will be sewing! Thank goodness the tiredness only lasts for the first trimester!

  2. I hear you, and I'm not even pg. I get tired just thinking about your life in 8 months!

  3. Oh yeah - the first trimester stinks! I was so amazed this time at how fast things went from sheer ecstasy over the BFP to the "Oh. My. Gosh." fatigue & yuckiness that follows. I hope it passes quickly for you!

  4. Hang in there....my first trimester was always different with each child. The first was the worst. I could not stand chicken at all during each pregnancy. But could eat a pound of spice drops and york peppermint patties. I will miss it...

  5. Hi Stephanie,
Thanks so much for leaving a comment on my blog. I so appreciate your kind words. We had such a fun night with the girls. I never dreamed I would parent twins, and I am so grateful.

Hang in there with your first trimester. You need to rest and take it easy. Eat out and take lots of naps.
